Despite the fact that Jenn & I went out on Monday to celebrate her birthday, we decided we should resume our Tuesday tradition as well, since we took a hiatus last week. Jenn, much more the music guru than me, discovered a new band on Pandora, googled them, and found out they were playing a show on the Lower East Side. After checking out one of their music videos, seeing the undoubtedly attractiveness of them and $8 tickets, I agreed to go. As soon as we got to the venue, our eyes swept over the bar, in awe, at how many cute hipster boys (men, really) were there. It might just become a new spot for us to go out… I’m slowly beginning to wear of the crowd in our neighborhood. At any rate, among the crowd of cute guys were the band members. Can I just mention that their music videos don’t do their looks justice? After 30 minutes or so, it was time for them to go on, so we headed towards the music area in the back, lusting after them as they set-up. The one I was eyeing was wearing white patent leather shoes, slightly scuffed, black skinny jeans, white v-neck, and black cardigan… he was about 6’4” and had the messy look going on with his dirty blonde hair. Jenn was looking at the lead singer, who is the brother of my guy, and had a very hot, European look to him. The place began filling up quite a bit, and it became evident that we were not the only girls who had developed crushes on the band, although Jenn and I were able to secure a spot near the front to ensure we would at least have an increased chance in a bit of eye contact. They put on an amazing show… really fun, engaging, and I didn’t once get bored (that’s a first).
The hour went by too quickly, and before I knew it, they were on their last song. As everyone filtered out, Jenn and I decided to hang bar side for a bit and see if they were going to come back there and just chill. 15 minutes or so later, they emerged and ended up standing somewhat near us. Our drunken confidence shone through (maybe it was the rum we had been sipping?), and we made our way over towards them to congratulate them on how awesome their show was. They gladly accepted our praise, and conversation opened up between all of us. Aside from getting their background, they asked about us… where we were from, how we met each other, where we lived, etc. An hour later, and the group had broken up a bit, making it Jenn, me, and the two brothers. Cha-ching! Slowly, our foursome sub-divided into one-on-one, Jenn with her European-esque guy, and me with mine. After another 30 minutes or so, we asked if they wanted to check out a new beer hall that just opened up around the corner from us. (Devious? Not in the least…) After they said bye to the other half of their band, the four of us hailed a cab and showed up at Amity Hall. It wasn’t packed, which made conversation much easier, and after two rounds, we decided to call it a night… well, as far as being in public goes.
I’m not sure if we actually asked them if they wanted to come back to the apartment with us, or if it was implied, but soon enough, our tiny apartment was double the usual occupancy. We didn’t spend any time in our joke of a common area, but instead headed to our respective rooms, with our respective brothers in tow. My hipster and I spent a while talking before any making out began, which was nice, though I began growing impatient, as I apparently think and act like a man most of the time. Luckily, he made the first move, which grew into an intense make out session. He was the best kisser I’ve experienced in quite some time, most likely heightened by how turned on I had been all night. After what seemed like 30 or 45 minutes, slight messing around began. Surprisingly, we kept it at that, and fell asleep after another 30 minutes or so. Sadly, I had to be in at work by semi-early the next morning, as did Jenn, so we had to kick our band boys out around 7ish. We exchanged numbers, and they’re supposed to be back in the city sometime in February, so perhaps there’s a chance of recurrence. At any rate, the city never allows for boredom or complacency… I knew there was a reason I decided to make this my home.
