Date #4, Midtown “nap” during snowpocalypse 2010

As you may have seen on the news, NYC is currently experiencing “Snowpocalypse 2010”.  When the public schools cancelled everything today, yesterday afternoon, we too cancelled all programs.  I planned on being lazy and taking a day off, but annoyingly enough, I woke up at 6:45 and decided to go in rather than waste vacation time.  Craigslist guy sent me the routine good morning email, kicking off our numerous exchanges we typically have.  This time, I brought up taking an afternoon nap in a warm, cozy bed and how nice it would be to have him with me.  He jumped on that pretty quickly and asked if I would want to take a Midtown nap with him on my way home.  Seeing as he’s no longer a stranger and that I know he won’t kill me, I decided sure, why not.

We agreed to meet at 3:00, on a street corner right by the train.  As soon as I saw him, we walked half a block to park Central Hotel and headed up to floor 15.  We hung up our jackets, took off our shoes, then settled onto the bed and turned on the tv.  After a bit of channel-surfing, we settled on the news (how exciting) and he did hilarious voice overs for all the anchors.  After 20 or so minutes, he went to kiss me and some serious making out ensued… 20 minutes later, the same amount of clothes were still on and no advances had been made to remove them.  The closest we came to messing around was him feeling me up, but nothing more.  I enjoyed every bit of it, but was a bit baffled at the fact that he didn’t even try anything else, especially after dropping around $200 on a room…

I’m beginning to wonder what the actual deal is.  Is it possible that I’ve found a successful, funny, smart, cute, monetarily endowed, single guy in NYC?  Is there a girlfriend/wife in the picture?  Every date so far has either been in the afternoon or early enough in the evening… does he have someone he has to get home to at night?  This weekend we’re going out Saturday, and I’ve alluded to the fact that we’re spending the night together since I have Sunday off, so if he takes me back to his apartment, great, but if he gets a hotel for us, I’m going to wonder… I don’t want to offend him by asking if he has a girlfriend, but I don’t want to continue on blindly for weeks to ultimately get my heart broken.  Do I ask if he has a girlfriend?  If so, when would be the most appropriate time to ask?

Oy vey.  Fingers crossed that I’ve found a catch, but cynically tip-toeing for the worst case scenario.
